Mississippi Golf History

A post by Janice over at Cow Hampshire made me wonder what gems I might be able to uncover relating to golf's history in Mississippi. I discovered that there was a place called Keller's Green on the Mississippi Gulf as early as 1902 where one could find golfers. The first golf club in the state was called the Great Southern Club and was designed by a man from New Orleans, opening in 1908. You can read more about the history of golf on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at the Gulf Coast Golf Association.
